Site Visit Planned
Bill will be in Belize
August 29th - Sept 2nd. This is an excellent opportunity to visit Belize
and have him show you the site. Email and let us know if you'd like to
join him.
We have 6 lots reserved. There are
6 remaining at pre-construction prices. The mid-lake lots
are starting to disappear. Don't miss out.
Reserve yours now!
See the Lots
for Sale page for more information.
We have had great response from a lot of you regarding the project and really
appreciate those of you who have gone to look at the property
and visit Belize. For those of you who need a little
more assurance that things are proceeding appropriately, please see our official approval letters from the
Government of Belize.
Included are the
following: Department of the Environment’s Clearance Letter; Department of
Geology’s letter to the Lands Utilization Authority (LUA) indicating they see no
problems with the lake excavation plan; and the LUA’s Letter for Provisional
Approval to subdivide.
see the letters.
What is “Provisional Approval”? This approval grants us clearance to survey and excavate the lake and survey the lots after the lake is complete. Once the lake is complete, the roads are built and the lots are surveyed we will provide the final survey plot layout to the LUA for Final Approval. They will inspect the site to verify that we built everything as proposed in our original application. When they find that we have, they will issue Final Approval. Once “Final Approval” is received, we can officially submit the paperwork to the Lands Department for transfer of property ownership to buyers for title to their property.
If you have questions
please don’t hesitate to call us or send us an email.

Bill and Stacy recently returned from a wonderful vacation in Belize. Jim
and Sarah Walsh (lot owners) were able to join us for some fun
activities. The Walshes were our first owners and they bought
site-unseen, so this was their first opportunity to see the project site.
They both loved the beauty and simple nature of Belize and are excited about
getting this ski lake community established. If you would like to speak to
them regarding their impressions, let us know and we can have them contact you.
Scuba diving, zip-lining and spelunking were some of the exciting adventures we shared. Click the links below to see pictures of each activity.
Actun Tunichil
Muknal (ATM Cave)
This is the most amazing and
interesting adventure we have ever been on. Belize has many caves used by
the ancient Maya for ceremony and sacrifice but the ATM cave may be the most
famous because of the human remains, including the "Crystal Maiden", a full
skeleton of a young woman. To access the cave, one must scale boulders and
swim through pools and hike through caverns adorned with beautiful
crystalline stalactites and other cave formations. This is a wet, thrilling,
amazing, magical, educational experience. Highly recommended.

We (Bill and Stacy) recently returned from Belize. It was a very
productive trip and we had a great time, as usual. We got the final
signed copy of the Environmental Compliance Plan from the Dept of
Environment. This was required before we could obtain any other
permits. So, we are now proceeding with several other requirements,
such as: working with our lawyer to develop the covenants; applying for our
mining permit to dig the lake; and submitting our application for
subdivision. The project is progressing satisfactorily.
We also had time for a few fun activities. We did a day of scuba diving, a day of cave-tubing and took a beautiful canoe trip down the creek that adjoins our property.

We
canoed down Cornhouse Creek, which adjoins the Manatee Bay property. It
was a really beautiful trip, with birds chirping and jungle overgrowth hanging
over the creek. As we got closer to the lagoon, the creek got deeper and
wider and then joined the Manatee Bar river. At the confluence of the
creek and river, we saw a manatee breach! I wish the camera was in my hand at
the time.
This is a breathtaking canoe trip that would be available to all lot owners at Manatee Bay Waterski Park.
Also, if you're into fishing, below is a quote from the Belize forums. It is a response to someone who had asked about a good place to go tarpon fishing. The "jungle river tributary" that he mentions is the Manatee Bar river to which we canoed, and the Southern lagoon to which he refers is directly adjacent to and accessible from the Western Lagoon, where Manatee Bay is located. It would be a short 15 minute boat ride from our dock to the river. It is exciting to know that we have such great fishing readily available from the property.
I have caught ferocious 'baby' tarpon (20-30lb), as well as barracuda & jack, up a jungle river tributary that flows into the Southern Lagoon. This is a remote spot, far enough away from the major commercial guides that it gets little fishing pressure. Book yourself a room at the Manatee Lodge (www.manateelodge.com), at the end of the Gales Point Peninsula. They'll 'hook' you up with a lcoal fishing guide, John, who has all the gear you'll need for a fantastic jungle-river or lagoon tarpon battle. And the scenery is breath-taking My family & I don't like the commercialism of the more popular cayes, & Gales Point is such a remote village, from back in time, that you will find plenty to do besides shopping and bars. Have fun! |
You must go cave tubing while in Belize! This was so awesome! Ride a tube down the river through multiple caves with striking cave formations.
The Crystal Cave was especially delightful, with an overabundance of sparkling, crystalline stalactites and stalagmites.
